Donald R. Dalton, 81 of Reinbeck, Iowa, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Sunnycrest Nursing Home in Dysart, Iowa. Services and burial are being conducted privately by the family. A memorial fund has been established in Don's memory at Lincoln Savings Bank in Reinbeck.

Don was born to John and Hazel Decker Dalton on Feb. 20, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Mary Anne Luck on June 17, 1950. Together they welcomed five children into their family.

Don was a lifetime member of the American Legion Action Post 242 in Reinbeck and the VFW in Waterloo. Don served his country overseas during the Korean War. Don was employed at the Rath Packing Co. for 38 years. He loved to fish, deer hunt and go camping with his family. Together he and his family visited many states and created many lasting memories.

Don is survived by his wife Mary Anne; children Sharon Dalton (Henry Zingg), Brenda Darlynn, Pamela Bonk, Scott (Cindy) Dalton and Rhonda Dalton; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Douglas; sister, Betty and granddaughter, Brittany.
