Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church for Edwin T. Schumann, 68, of 706 Quincy St., who died at his home at 9 p.m. Sunday of a heart attack.

Friends may call at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel after 7 p.m Monday and those who wish may contribute to the memorial fund of River Hills in his name.

He was born in Waterloo on Feb. 25, 1902, the son of William and Ellen Gaughan Schumann and lived here his entire life. He married Elnora Braun on March 24, 1928 in Independence. Following her death in 1963 he married Loinse Swift Billick on May 2,1964 in Waterloo.

He was employed for 38 years at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a machinist and retired in 1966. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the John Deere Retirement Club.

Mr. Schumann is survived by his wife, one son, Russell of 536 Dawson St.; two stepsons Kenneth Billick of 1024 Downing Ave.; and John Billick of 1225 Mulberry St.; one stepdaughter Mrs. Donald Meier of 2310 Franklin St., Cedar Falls; two brothers, Ralph of 2814 Rainbow Drive, Cedar Falls; and Joseph of 505 Hammond Ave. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife.
