WATERLOO - Thomas Glenn Dengler, 59, of Leesburg, Va., formerly of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Dec. 16, 2013.

He was born in 1954 in Waterloo, son of Howard "Louie" and Verna Mae Dengler. He married Sue Hall in 1978.

Mr. Dengler was in construction all of his life, building and remodeling homes as well as commercial development. Through the years he oversaw his own construction companies, and worked for various builders, most recently Paradigm Building Group. He was a member of Cornerstone Chapel, Leesburg.

Survived by his wife; a son, Kellen of Franklin, Tenn.; two daughters, Krista and Kara Dengler, both of Leesburg; a daughter-in law, Emily Dengler of Franklin; a granddaughter, Ruby Dengler of Franklin; his mother of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Judy Dengler of Palm Desert, Calif., and Pam Dengler of Cedar Falls; a brother, Jim of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Ardi Dengler of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his father.

Celebration of Life: 1 p.m. today at Cornerstone Chapel, 742 Miller Drive SE, Leesburg, VA 20175, followed by a reception. Colonial Funeral Home, Leesburg, is assisting the family.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to Blue Ridge Hospice (checks can be made payable to Blue Ridge Hospice and sent to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork St., No. 405, Winchester, VA 22601).

Tom was a devoted husband and father, he loved to serve his family and the church. He was a man of integrity with a servant’s heart and a deep love for the Lord. His ultimate goal was to glorify God in all he did.
