WATERLOO - Shirley M. Hix, 81, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born March 14, 1932, daughter of Edward and Anna Nauman Schultz. She married Francis Hix on Aug. 29, 1953, in Fort Dodge; he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hix was a homemaker.

Survived by two daughters, Jonie (Alan) Baily of Tacoma, Wash., and Sherry (John) Bartholomew of Waterloo; a son, Steven (Connie) of Waterloo; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Christensen and Jo Ann Hanson.

Burial in Garden of Memories. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
