WATERLOO - Larry W. Clemmensen, 74, of Waterloo, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born July 4, 1939, in Waterloo, son of Lyle and Esther Elizabeth Colburn Clemmensen. He married JoAnn Beard on Feb. 14, 1960, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua; she died July 15, 1993.

Mr. Clemmensen had previously worked for the Rock Island Railroad, on a dairy farm, Hawkeye Steel and John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 2010 from the Heartland Inn.

Survived by his companion, Janie Adams of Waterloo; five daughters, Tammy (Bob) O’Rourke of Eden Prairie, Minn., Lisa (John) Fredrickson of Cedar Falls, Dawn (Dan) Kohls of Waterloo, and Stacy Adams (Randy) and Dusty (Dusty) Martin, both of Evansdale; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Louise) of Elk Run Heights; a sister-in-law, Judy Sanderson of Elk Run Heights; a family friend, Chris Hill of Cedar Rapids; and his dog, Max.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dixie and Pat; a brother, Jim; and a brother-in-law, Woody Sanderson.

Celebration of Life: 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at AMVETS Post 31, Evansdale. His body has been cremated per his wishes. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is assisting the family.
