Kenneth Arnold Moen, 81, of Decorah, formerly of Dunkerton and Clinton, Wis., died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Winneshiek Medical Center, Decorah, following a long illness.

He was born March 16, 1925, in St. Paul, Minn., son of August E. and Marie Bakke Moen. He married Virginia D. Barth Aug. 11, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Locust.

He graduated from Decorah High School in 1942 and attended Luther College in Decorah. He served in the U.S. Marines as a radar technician on Johnson Island in the South Pacific.

Mr. Moen and his wife farmed north of Decorah near Locust for 20 years. He then began working as the cooperative manager at Midland Coop in Decorah, later transferring to the Midland Coop, later known as Land O' Lakes Co-op in Dunkerton and Clinton, Wis.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Larry (fiance Jennifer) of Cedar Falls and Richard (Sharon) of Watertown, Wis.; two daughters, Janmarie (Rocky) Olson of Yuma, Ariz., and Renee (Delvin) Sommerlot of Dunkerton; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Sharon) of Stoney Creek, N.C..; a sister, Elsie Rosendahl of Burr Oak; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Moen of Brouch Ville, Canada.

Preceded in death by a brother, John; and a brother-in-law, Mert Rosendahl.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church with burial and full military honors in Lutheran Cemetery, both in Decorah. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fjelstul Funeral Home, Decorah, where there will be a 7 p.m. VFW memorial service, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
