Susan A. “Sue” Griswold, 57, of Traer, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born Oct. 14, 1952, in Waterloo, daughter of Theodore M. and Charlotte R. Hunter Heggebo. She married Craig Griswold on Feb. 13, 1970, in Washburn, and they were later divorced.

Mrs. Griswold had been employed at Walmart in Waterloo for the last nine years.

Survived by three sons, Tommy of Grundy Center, William (Molly) of Dubuque and Steven of Reinbeck; a daughter, Kristy Griswold of San Antonio; three brothers, Ken Heggebo of Olin, Marvin (Jan) Heggebo of Waterloo and Ron (Sandy) Heggebo of Rochester, Minn.; a sister, Eldene Deeds of Waterloo; and five grandchildren, Tony Sue, Courtney, Nichole, Devin and Amanda Griswold.

Preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gloria Stearns; and her former husband.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from noon until services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family in lieu of flowers.
