WATERLOO—Andrew B. "Andy" Melcher, 84, of 728 Hope Ave., died Sunday, Nov. 5, 1995, at Parkview Gardens Care Center of natural causes.

He was born April 5, 1911, in Humphrey, Neb., son of Frederick and Theresa Husemann Melcher. He married Margaret Bove on April 5, 1938, in Madison, Neb.

Mr. Melcher was employed in the freezer department at Rath Packing Co. and later worked as an inspector at Chamberlain Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1976.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Don and Doug, both of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ervin of Madison and Arnold of David City, Neb.;, and a sister, Lepna Meider of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Lively; three brothers; and five sisters.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial, in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.in today at O'Keefe & Towrie-Grarup & Waychoff Funeral Home, where there will be a 3 p.m. rosary, a 7 p.m. vigil service arid an 8 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
