WATERLOO - Dorothy Valentine Carson, 98, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

She was born Feb. 14, 1910, in Waterloo, daughter of William and Alta Moore Brinker. On Jan. 8, 1936, she married Kenneth Carson. He died Sept. 15, 1981.

She grew up in Waterloo on the family farm, now known as Brinker Lake, and graduated from Waterloo East High. She was a homemaker.

Survived by a daughter, Sharon (Gaylen) Frazee of Waterloo; two grandsons, Tim (Stephanie) Frazee of Fairfax and Jason Frazee of Cedar Falls; five great-grandchildren, Hannah Frazee, Carson Frazee, Cole Frazee, Arianna Frazee and Jaxon Frazee; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Wood; two brothers, William and Floyd Brinker; and a grandson, Jeffrey Frazee.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rivers Edge Christian Church, with burial in Mount Vernon Township Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, where there will be a 6 p.m. Eastern Star service.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Dorothy enjoyed square dancing in her early years, crafts and card clubs. She was active in the Ladies Farm Bureau and was a member of White Shrine, the Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth and was a longtime member of the Waterloo Church of Christ. She was also an election worker during election years. One of her greatest joys in life was family gatherings with her grandsons and their families.
