Services for Adolph Kristian Petersen, 76, of 1927 Ashland Ave., will be at. 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Nazareth Lutheran Church. Officiating will be the Rev Homer Larsen, pastor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with a flag folding ceremony by American Legion Post 237.

Petersen was born Sept. 18, 1894, in Denmark, the son of Frederick and Petrea Pedersen Petersen. He married Martha Engeline Keller Aug. 4, 1919 a the Cedar Falls Nazareth Lutheran Church.

He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 237, and was a World War I veteran.

He is survived by his wife; four sons: Frederick of Jacksonville, Fla., Elvin of Sumner, Ernest of 1828 Rainbow Dr., and Donald of Muncie, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. James W. Hansen of 1123 W. 2nd St.; a brother, Martin Christiansen of 1202 W. 11th St.; seven sisters: Mrs. Marie Oleson of the Lutheran Home, Mrs. Magna Oleson of 1703 Parker St., Mrs. Svend Beck of 121 Woodland Road, Waterloo, Mrs. Kris Hansen of 2008 Oak Ave.; Mrs. John Langskov of 1403 Parkway Ave., Mrs. Lyle Shaw of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Lynn Ray of 1109 W. 12th St.: 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He died at Sartori Hospital Monday night.

The family has requested memorials be sent to the Nazareth Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are by Nottger Funeral Home.
