AYERS, GENE GENA R AYERS RAMBACH 1878-1971

Services for Mrs. Gene R. Ayers, 92, of 323 W. 4th St., will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. The Rev. Maurice Mullan, pastor of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visitations with the family present will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ayers, who died Wednesday morning at Windsor Estates Nursing Home, was born June 11, 1878, in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Phillip and Mary Messner Rambach. She married Charles W. Ayers June 12, 1889, in Waterloo.

A member of Eastern Star she was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College and a retired supervisor for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. She also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She is survived by one sister Fannie Casey of 323 W. 4th St.; and two nephews, Paul F. Casey of Mankato, Minn., and Joseph C. Casey of Cleveland, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers.

The family has requested that memorials be given to the Iowa Heart Association.
