Jared James Hostetler, 25, of Traer, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo; cause of death pending autopsy results.

He was born Oct. 17, 1979, in Waterloo, son of Gayla Billington and Jim Hostetler. He was employed by Sunrise Hill Care and Rehab Center in Traer for several years. He received his certificate of ordination through the Universal Church.

Jared loved to play the guitar and he was always telling jokes. Most of all, he loved his friends, family and especially life. He had a special friend, Sue Feldhacker, and her son Jacob.

Survived by his father, Jim (Soo) Hostetler of Cedar Falls; his mother, Gayla Billington of Traer; and a sister, Jaclyn "Jaci" Hostetler of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roger and Marjorie Hostetler; and his maternal grandparents, Coy and Bertha Billington.

Family-directed memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Ripley United Church of Christ, Traer, followed by a balloon release. Also following the memorial service there will be a Celebration of Life at the Wind Up Lounge in Traer. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

A memorial fund is being established.

Jared will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
