CEDAR FALLS -- Ruth E. Christensen, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Nov. 24, 2013, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born July 12, 1920, in Waterloo, daughter of Frank and Elva Handy Crofoot. She married Paul A. Christensen on June 21, 1941, in Waterloo; he died July 30, 1999.

Survived by three daughters, Diane (Tom) Stuart of Toledo, Ohio, Kathy (Bill) Mathews of West Des Moines and Sue (Barb) Christensen of San Jose, Calif.; a son, Philip (Jean) of Shiloh, Ill.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, John Clark of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a sister; and an infant son.

Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Tuesday at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls, followed by a reception. Private family interment in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery will precede services. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.

In earlier years, Ruth was employed at Walgreen’s Drug Store. Beyond that, she spent the remainder of her years in service and volunteer positions.
