WATERLOO - Danny R. O'Dell E-3 (Aircraft Handling Airman, Aviation Boatswain's Mate), 24, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007 in Norfolk, Va.

He was born Feb. 12, 1983, son of Glen W. and Annabelle Dyke O'Dell. He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 2001 and was employed with UPS as a handler in shipping. In June of 2005 he joined the U.S. Navy and was currently serving aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Mediterranean.

Survivors include his uncle and aunt, Karlton E. and Dianne K. Dyke of Waterloo; a sister, Theresa (Billy) Foshee of Tulsa, Okla.; a cousin, Becky (Scott) Dix of Cedar Falls; a niece, Katlyn Foshee; two nephews, Justin and Hunter Foshee; two second cousins, Brandon and Britney Dix; paternal grandfather, John Bieber of Waterloo; and maternal grandmother, Daisy M. Bohr of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a cousin, Richard E. Dyke; and paternal grandmother, Margie Dyke Bieber.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery at a later date. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and for one hour before services on Tuesday.

A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
