CEDAR FALLS -- Mary Lou Miller, 75, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born Oct. 24, 1937, in Grundy Center, daughter of Frank and Esther Rayman Mamminga. She married John Miller on June 14, 1959 in Grundy Center.

She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1955 and earned a bachelor's degree in music from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) in 1959. She taught music in New London, followed by 50 years of teaching piano in the Cedar Falls area. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, Chapter KL of PEO and Tuesday Club.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Julie (Jay) Hinrichs of Greeley, Colo.; two sons, Brad (Paula) of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Brian (Jill) of West Dundee, Ill.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin (Carmen) Mamminga of Omaha, Neb.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls, preceded by inurnment in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Hudson. No visitation. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, the church or Western Home Foundation.
