WATERLOO - Merle John Zuck Jr., 55, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Waterloo, died July 27, in Clearwater.

He was born Sept. 30, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Merle John Sr. and Clementine Zuck.

Mr. Zuck worked for John Deere Tractor Works until 1977 when he moved to Clearwater. At that time he became involved in the restaurant business, which he remained in for the past 29 years. Since 1997, he was a co-owner of Galley Pizza in Dunedin.

Survived by his father of Clearwater; a son, Dennis of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Jennifer Zuck Smith of Naples and Jessica Zuck of Waterloo; his ex-wife, Lila May Zuck of Naples; six brothers, Bill and Tom, both of Waterloo, Mike of Bondurant, Steve of St. Petersburg, Fla., Rod of Clearwater and Keith of Fort Smith, Ark.; four sisters, Sandy Dirkes of Waterloo, Peg Kyle of Homosassa, Fla., Becky Blackmer of Clearwater and Sharon Freeman of Wise, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his mother.

Services were Aug. 1 in Florida.
