CEDAR FALLS - Roger D. Phippen, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Waterloo, son of Don and Doris Phippen. He married Gretchen Petersen on Oct. 7, 1972, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Phippen graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1958 and was employed as a custodian with the University of Northern Iowa for 30 years.

Survived by his wife; a brother, Larry (Mary); his mother-in-law, Neoma Petersen of Cedar Falls; a sister-in-law, Marsha (Mark) Newton of Cedar Falls; two brothers-in-law, Wayne (Linda) Petersen of Iowa City and Clark Petersen of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at NewAldaya Lifescapes chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 9:30 a.m. until services at the chapel. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
