WATERLOO - Vincent Wagner, 82, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Gilbertville, son of Leo and Magdaline Demuth Wagner. He married Alverna Dye on Nov. 4, 1946, in Independence.

Mr. Wagner worked at Rath Packing Co. as a meat cutter and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William of Hudson and Jeffrey (Meg) of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Diane (Ron) McMahon and Darla Wagner, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Shawn (Tosha) McMahon, Shannon (Scott) Schmidt, and Sydney, Amanda and Ryan Wagner; two great-grandchildren, Braden and Christopher Schmidt and one expected great-grandson; four sisters, Dolores Lantz, Theresa (Wayne) Hoofnagle, Margaret (Dan) O#,Connell and Lorraine (Romaine) Neisen.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bernard and Jerome; a sister, Juanita Wagner; and a great-grandson, Nathan Schmidt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
