WANAMAKER, LEWIS

Mrs. Elva N. Wanamaker, 67, widow of A. C. Wanamaker, 317 Seventh Street West, died at 2 a. m. Monday in Isolation Hospital of a heart attack. She was taken to the hospital May 16.

Mrs. Wanamaker, who had lived in Waterloo about 20 years, was active in patriotic organizations. She was one of the charter members and the first president of the Daughters of Union Veterans. She was reelected and held the office for three years. She was a past president of the Sons of Veterans auxiliary and while living at Albert Lea, Minn., was an active member of the Woman's Relief corps. She also assisted in editing the Albert Lea Tribune for a time.

Mrs. Wanamaker was born in Minnesota and came here from Des Moines. For seven years she was office assistant for the A. Olson Construction Company, Waterloo.

A daughter, Mrs. Blanche Lewis lives in Chicago. Mrs. Wanamaker also had a son, but it is not known where he is living.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the O'Keefe & Towne chapel. Sons of Veterans and the Sons of Veterans auxiliary will have the ritual service in the chapel and Daughters of Veterans the burial service in Waterloo cemetery.

A wire from the daughter Monday afternoon stated she would not be able to come.
