Robert "Bob" McMahon, 75, of Dewar, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at his home from complications of many health problems.

He was born July 14, 1930, in Raymond, son of Con and Mary Linder McMahon. He married Janet Schmitt May 15, 1954, at St. John's Catholic Church, Waterloo.

He graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1949 and was a seaman in the Navy during the Korean War. Mr. McMahon worked in the freezer department at Rath Meat Packing Plant for 35 years and then he worked at Wonder Bakery for seven years, retiring in 1994.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Rob (Pat) of Dunkerton, Scott (Linda) of Waverly and Brett (Shannon) of Denver; two daughters, Jill (John) Heinze of Fairbank and Kim (Terry) Dehmlow of Denver; 16 grandchildren, Zach, Justin and Johnny Heinze, Jessie Young, Mimi Jenkins, Kyle and Tate Dehmlow, Riann, Rachel, Kellen, Jacob, Alex, Bobbi, Marcus, Bo and Jaden McMahon; 17 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, Matt Watters, Wendi Maifeld, Chris and Skylar Mohlis; a sister, Mary (Paul) Gengler of Waterloo; four sisters-in-law, Helen McMahon of Missouri, Virginia McMahon and Vinetta, both of Waterloo, and Ida McMahon of Bakersville, Calif.; and his twin brother, Jim of Raymond.

Preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jerome, Paul, Joe and Don; a sister, Mildred Oestern; a brother-in-law, Ralph Oestern; and a sister-in-law, Connie McMahon.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Raymond. Full military rites will be conducted at the grave by American Legion Nugent-Demuth Post 714 of Gilbertville. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. The casket will not be open at the church.
