Clement V. Gossman, 65, of 204 Linden Ave., died at 7:30 a.m. yesterday at St. Francis Hospital of a stomach disorder.

He was born June 1, 1897, in Winneshiek County, the son of John A. and Mary C. McCabe Gossman. He attended schools at Canton, Minn., and was graduated from Loras College, Dubuque.

He married Irma Polansky Aug. 25, 1936, at Decorah. They lived at Decorah for six years following their marriage and then came to Waterloo where he was employed in the shipping department at the Rath Packing Co. He held that position until he retired last January. Mr. Gossman was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Sara, a student at Clarke college, Dubuque; his mother, Mrs. Mary Gossman, of Decorah; three brothers, Francis and Leland, both of Canton, Minn.; and Clodius of 418 Linden Ave.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Jennisch, of Decorah; Mrs. Andy Wenthold, of Mabel, Minn.; and Mrs. Sylvester Carlton, of Canton, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic church. A Rosary service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. yesterday by the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women at the Oppold Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.

Funeral services for Clement V. Gossman, 65, of 204 Linden Ave., who died Saturday morning at St. Francis Hospital, will be at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Kuhn, assistant pastor, will officiate. Burial will the in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Rosary services wili be at 7:30 p.m. Monday by the Holy Name Society and parish at the Oppold funeral home.
