WATERLOO -- Shirley Ann Raecker, 81, of Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Thalman Square of Cedar Falls Western Home Communities.

Shirley was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Waterloo, daughter of Cyril and Dorothy Meisch Harnack. She married Richard Raecker on Sept. 16, 1951, in Cedar Falls.

She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a master’s degree in speech pathology and worked at Allen Hospital for 20 years

Survived by: her husband; two sons, Martin (Deb) of Cedar Falls and Chris of Crystal Lake, Ill.; a daughter, Robin (Timothy) Hodgkin of California; a sister, Norma Witt of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Mike (Sarah) and Matt; and two great-grandsons, Jake and Zach.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Waterloo First United Methodist Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Please note change in place of service. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
