JANESVILLE -- Dick Owen Henry, 90, of Janesville, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Waterloo, son of George and Stella Marie Wheeler Henry. In 1948, he married Claire Boyer and she later passed away. On July 28, 1983, he married Gale Oler at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

He graduated from Janesville High School in 1941. He then attended Iowa State University, Ames, before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He worked at John Deere, Waterloo, for a short time and then took over the family dairy farm in 1947. He quit farming in 1986, and went to work as a security guard for Viking Pump, retiring in 2005.

Survived by his wife; four sons, Randy (Carol) of Titusville, Fla., Michael (Diane) of Medicine Lodge, Kan., Mark (Jill) of Amana and Benjamin of Waterloo; a daughter, Stella (Tom) Hite of Waterloo; a brother, Dean of Waterloo; a sister, Doris Humbert of Minnesota; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; and a brother, Dale.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Finchford Community Bible Church, Finchford, with burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls, where the Janesville American Legion Post 522 will give honors. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly.
