Peter Daley, former Waterloo resident and for 50 years an employe and engineer for the Chicago Great Western Railway, died at 4 p.m. Saturday in Kansas City, Mo., while raking leaves from his lawn, according to word received last night by his adopeted daughter, Mrs. P. J. Brant, 402 Western Avenue.

Mr. Daley had lived in Kansas City for the past 12 years, ahving retired in July, 1941.

Born Feb. 12, 1875, in Seaforth, ontario, Canada, he went with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Daley, to St. Paul, Minn., when he was six years old. They later moved to St. Joseph, Mo., and he there married Jennie Manley* on Oct. 2, 1898. The couple moved to Waterloo in 1913 and lived here until 1932.

Surviving are his wife, at Kansas City; one son, Harvey S. Daley, Portland, Ore.; four daughters: Mrs. P. J. Bryant, Waterloo; Mrs. Cleta Roepe, Topeka, Kan.; Mrs. Thelma Bellis and Miss Alta Daley, Kansas City; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services for Peter Daley, former resident of Waterloo, who died Saturday in Kansas City. Mo., will be held here at 3:30 p. rn. Wednesday in Kearns Garden chapel. Rex Frank W. Court, pastor of Linden Methodist church, will be in charge. Masonic rites will also be held. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
