CEDAR FALLS - Kenneth E. Reints, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

He was born Feb. 18, 1924 in Blockton, son of Earl and Edith Bentley Reints. He married Alice Morris on April 13, 1946, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Reints served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a machinist at John Deere & Co. in Waterloo from 1946 until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of First Christian Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife, Alice Reints, of Cedar Falls; a son, James (Denise) of Waverly ; two daughters, Janice (Terry) Olsson of Mankato, Minn., and Lonna Flugge (Rob Boots) of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and Elmer; and a niece, Dianne.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the church.
