CEDAR FALLS - Word has been received of the death of Elmer L. Norman, 72, of Archer, Fla., formerly of Cedar Falls, who died of a stroke Monday (Oct. 6, 1986) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Melbourne, Fla.

He was born in Cedar Falls and grew up in the area. He married Aletha Freet in January 1945. They were later divorced. He later married Penny Burns.

He was a veteran of the Coast Guard, serving in World War II. He lived in New York for many years where he was a coordinator for a school system.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Denise Bellock of Jordan, Utah; a son Wayne of Boise, Idaho; three grandchildren; and a sister, Ollive Perrin of Clarion.
