WATERLOO - John Edward Nosko, 69, of Garnavillo, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born July 18, 1935, in Gladbrook, son of John and Josephine Lutgen Nosko. He married Donna Akers; they later divorced. He married Mavorette DeBeer in 1964 in Minnesota; they later divorced.

Mr. Nosko was employed with Rath Packing Co. in the smoked meat department from 1952 until 1982. He was then employed with Warren Transportation, retiring in 1998.

Survived by his ex-wife and special friend, Mavorette Dettmer of Waterloo; five sons, Michael (Sue), Steve, Kelen and Korey, all of Waterloo, and Mark (Kathy) of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
