WATERLOO - Werner William "Bill" Kroenecke, 84, of Del Rio, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, from complications of heart disease.

He was born in Waterloo on Sept. 17, 1929, to Werner and Ester Kroenecke.

Mr. Kroenecke attended school in Waterloo and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He farmed for 20 years in New Hampton and retired from Rath Packing Co.

Survived by his wife, Teresa; two daughters, Sue (Dave) Dierkson of Harrison, Wis., and Traci Kroenecke of Del Rio; two sons, Marty (Sharon) of Jesup and Todd of Del Rio; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lou (Betty) of Houston; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Beverly Ibeck; and a foster sister, May Alhelm.

There will be no services at his request.
