Christine Ann Moothart, 62, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Oct. 12, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born July 10, 1951, in Waterloo, daughter of Anton Jr. and Shirley Stevens Hovar. She married Dennis Moothart on June 18, 1976, in Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Moothart graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in education, and worked in the Waterloo and Cedar Falls community schools as a substitute teacher, with an emphasis in special education. She was involved in the Girl Scouts of America as a troop leader.

Survived by her husband; a son, Aaron of Readlyn; a daughter, Katie (Bradley) Moothart of Sulphur, Okla.; two granddaughters, Cora and Caitlynn Berst; four brothers, Tim Hovar of Waterloo, Tom (Terri) Hovar of Independence, Mp., Anton III (Sheila) Hovar of Frederika and Matt (Lisa) Hovar of Nevada; and a sister, Cathy (Doug) Case of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Wayne Hovar.

Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
