WATERLOO - Vera Mae Gibbs, 81, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born July 3, 1932 in Waterloo, daughter of Elwood and Eva Andersen Stirm. She married Albert Gibbs in September 2002 in Independence.

Survived by her husband; four daughters, Julie Wentz and Brenda (Terry) Ehlert, both of Waterloo, Janice (Darrell) Neesen of Janesville, Wis., and Pat (Al) Ulberg of Lincoln, Neb.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cynthia Tompkins; a brother, Elwood Stirm; and a granddaughter.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, where visitation begins at noon.
