Harold L. Byers, 65, of 436 3rd Street, Hudson, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at his home of natural causes.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 24, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Hudson. Dahl Van-Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Byers was born July 31, 1933 at Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Ira and Leoma (Hoxie) Byers. He married Charlene Anderson on August 31, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 9, 1968.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was employed by Swiss Valley Farms in Waterloo, retiring in 1987.

He is survived by two daughters, Yvonna Hoskins, Independence, and Cathleen Lorenz, Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Ralph Byers, of Frazee, Minnesota; and one sister, Ruth Dickinson, Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and one sister, Helen Jensen.

Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery.
