WASHBURN - Lee Harris, 83, of Washburn, died at home Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013.

He was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Clermont, son of Faye and Hazel Hangartner Harris. He married Dorothy J. Drewis on June 11, 1950, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Harris worked for Rath Packing Co. for 31 years. He then moved in 1986 to Genoa, Wis., and worked as a butcher for Steve's Country Meats until 2010.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Rick (Carol) of Waterloo and Scott of Monona; three daughters, Vicky (Mike) Markey of Waterloo, Brenda (Tony) Jochumsen of Hudson and Sue Harris of Washburn; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his stepfather, James Mackey; three brothers, Neil, Dean and Merle; and a sister, Iris Zabel.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, with military rites by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
