CEDAR FALLS - Joan A. Lawrence, 89, of Cedar Falls, died at home Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.

She was born Dec. 23, 1923, in McIntosh, Minn., daughter of Albert and Ida Solie Rasmussen. She married Charles Lawrence on Nov. 11, 1957, in McIntosh, and they later divorced.

She graduated from McIntosh High School and Concordia College with a bachelor's degree. She was a teacher associate at Price Lab for 26 years, retiring in 1993.

Survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Susan) of Des Moines, Darby (Vicki) of Rochester, Minn., and Jay of Waterloo; a daughter, Nancy (Dave) Andersen of Cedar Falls; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Lowell Rasmussen of Erskine, Minn.; a sister, Fern Rasmussen of White Water, Wis.; and three sisters-in-law, Char Rasmussen of St. Paul, Minn., Ardyth Rasmussen of Salem, Ore., and Wilma Rasmussen of Vacaville, Calif.

Preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Daniel Andersen; three brothers, Gordon, Don and John Rasmussen; and a sister-in-law, Marian Rasmussen.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the family home, 1821 Walnut St. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church, KUNI, KHKE or IPTV.
