WATERLOO - Eveline Hurmence Wingert, 81, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born April 29, 1923, in Hazleton, daughter of Raphael and Anna May Spragg Michels. She married Donald D. Hurmence Sept. 9, 1950, in Sumner. He died June 5, 1958. She married Matthias "Math" R. Wingert June 30, 1964, in Raymond. He died Jan. 25, 1993.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Hurmence of Cedar Rapids and Clarence (Deanna) Hurmence of Hopkinton; four daughters, Donna (Jim) Higgins of Milwaukee, Charlotte Wingert of Ames, Rose (Randy) Boehmer of Mason City, and Lucy (Steve) Choplin of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren, Christine and Jessica Higgins, Christopher Kelley, Amanda (Lionel) Johnston, Sara Hurmence, R.J., Justin and Joshua Boehmer, Adam and Shane Choplin; two great-grandchildren, Emma Johnston and Calista Kelley; three brothers, Clement Michels of Independence, Walter Michels of Phoenix and Lyle Michels of Cedar Falls; and four sisters, Loretta Michels of Phoenix, Bertha Sepulveda of Dixon, Ill., Rosalie Nielson of Fayette and Dorothy Dane of Winton, Calif.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Norman, Bernard and Ronald Michels; two sisters, Margaret Jenkins and Shirley Michels; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Hurmence; and a granddaughter, Andrea Choplin.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. Senior Citizens rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
