ELK RUN HEIGHTS LeRoy G. Granzow, 80, of Elk Run Heights, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born April 21, 1925, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, son of Glenn L. and Ruth Ostrander Granzow. He married Harriet Mae Ostendorf on Sept. 3, 1949, in Greene.

Mr. Granzow was a graduate of Napavine High School, Washington, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a body and fender painter for Jewells Body Shop, retiring in 1977.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Harry R. of Evansdale; two daughters, Leitha Ann (Louis) Aten of Evansdale and Kathryn M. (James) Oesterle of Howell, Mich.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Leith (Nola) of Bremerton, Wash.; and three sisters, Ida Mae (Morris) Grubb of Bremerton, Mayme (Vince) Mancini of Hesperia, Calif., and Harriett Ostrander.

Preceded in death by a sister, Margie Beck.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mark#s United Methodist Church, Evansdale, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Friday at the church. Military rites will be provided by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
