CEDAR FALLS - Mary N. Crawford, 86, of Winfield, formerly of

Cedar Falls, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center
Winfield.

She was born July 14, 1918, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Hans C. and Anna Pelrea Olesen Hansen. She married Keith W. Crawford Jan. 31, 1943, in East Hartford, Conn. He died Jan. 14, 2003.

Mrs. Crawford graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1936 and from Iowa State Teachers College in 1939 with a bachelor of arts degree in music. She taught vocal music for kindergarten through 12th grade and typing at Winfield from 1939-1942, worked as a typist and secretary at ISTC, was a piano accompanist for Frank Carusa vocal studio in Hartford, was a church organist at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, and in Winfield and taught piano in Winfield for 20 years.

Survived by a son, Merrill of Dubuque; a daughter, Ann Bierle of Cedar Falls; a granddaughter, Eryn Bierle (fiance Chris Cronbaugh); and a brother, Milton Hansen of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a grandson; a sister; and an infant brother.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Winfield, with burial in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Honts Funeral Home, Winfield, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Winfield First Presbyterian Church or Sunrise Terrace Care Center.
