CEDAR FALLS - Marvin Rohm, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Western Home Elizabeth Martin Health Center.

He was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Decorah, son of Ole and Thorbjorg Skaftedal Rohm. He married Ruth E. Anderson on July 31, 1948, in Lake Mills; she died Aug. 13, 2012.

Mr. Rohm served as a First Lieutenant and pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He received his bachelor's degree from Luther College and his master's degree in music from Drake University. He was a teacher, musician and Realtor for many years. He was a member of the Metropolitan Chorale and the Proud Image Barbershop Chorus.

Survived by two daughters, Kathleen Rohm of House Springs, Mo., and Nikki Rohm of Seattle; a son, Eric of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Rohm of Decorah.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to charity of the donor’s choice.
