Thomas "Tom" Charles Frost, age 60, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at his home at 8:40 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.

Born Dec. 18, 1952, in Waterloo, he was the son of the late Eugene and Inez Lacey Frost. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Armed Forces for 12 years. He worked in maintenance and retired from Joplin R-VIII School District. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Jensen and her husband Dale; and sister-in-law, Deneen Frost.

He married Brenda Hanna on June 1, 1974, in Reno, Nev. She survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Andrew of Joplin, and Jason and wife Tami of St. Joseph, Mo.; three grandchildren, Dakoda, Caillyn and Cloe, all of St. Joseph; siblings, Michael and wife Doreen of Waterloo, Cheryl and husband John of Washburn, Larry of Roland, Debbie and husband Cal of Cedar Falls, Jeffery and wife Gina of Gilbertville, and Scott and wife Peggy of Gilbertville. He was also the proud uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at Thornhill-Dillon Chapel with Fr. J. Friedel, celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow at Ozark Memorial Park, with Larry, Scott, Jeff, Jason, Dakoda and Tyler serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Thornhill-Dillon Chapel beginning at 4 p.m. today. Recitation of the rosary will be at 6 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
