Jennie Hall Pierce was born at Janesville, Wisconsin, June 1st, 1850 and died at her home in East Cedar Falls, April 16th, in the 45th year of her age.

She was married to A. W. Pierce Dec. 24th, 1875. Three children were born to them, two of whom with the bereaved husband survive. Earl, a bright young boy of ten years of age, died some two years ago. The mother although reconciled to the Divine will in the loss of this child, received a blow in his death from which she never recovered.

At the age of sixteen she was converted and united with the M. E. church at Parkersburg, Iowa, under the evangelistic labors of Rev. James A. Kerr. She possessed a joyful aid happy Christian experience, and was greatly interested in the work of foreign missions for a number of years, serving as an official in the Woman's Missionary society.

A bereaved husband, a, daughter and a son mourn, her death.

She had a large circle of friends here and elsewhere who deeply feel her loss.

Mrs. Nancy Hall, mother of the deceased, and brothers, Milton and Riley Hall, of Parkersburg, Mrs. C. W. Pierce, of Epworth and" Mrs. John Parker, of Kimball, S. D., sisters, were present to attend the funeral.
