Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home for Mrs. Clara Wilhite, 78, who died at 9 p.m. Sunday at the Americana Nursing home, where she had been a patient since May 3.

Her death was caused by a stroke, suffered on April 12. The Rev. George W. Griebe now will officiate. Committa services will be at 2 p.m Wednesday at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Tuesday

She was born Aug. 13, 1887, at McGregor, la., the daughter of Justus and Sophie Kurzrock. She was graduated from the McGregor High School.

On July 19, 1906, she was married to E. Clifford Wilhite in Dubuque. They came to Waterloo in 1915. She was associated with retail sales in Waterloo for about 40 years. She was employed at the former Paul Davis Drygrood Co., Lauerman's and by the James Black Drygoods Co. where she was a buyer until her retirement in 1957. Mrs. Wilhite was a member of the First Congregational Church of Waterloo.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Roland Mapes, 301 Saratoga Dr., and one sister, Mrs. C. B. Williams of Portland Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and four brothers.
