DEATH OF MRS. G. BEAL
Passes Away at Her Home on Sixth Street Yesterday Afternoon
THE RESULE OF AN OPERATION
Had Lived in Iowa for Thirty Years - Was Well Known and Respected
Sarah Schrock Beal died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at her home on. West Sixth Street, between Randolph and Wellington Streets, as the result of an operation performed for the removal of a cancerous tumor.
Deceased was born in Garret County Md., Dec. 2, 1844, and came to Iowa about thirty years ago. She was married to Geo. B. Beal on Nov. 4, 1888.
She was one of the charter members of the Ennon Brethren church, and was well known and respected throughout the city and county, numbered, as she is among our many pioneers. Her life was one of much happiness and but for the gnawings of the cancer would have been a round of sweet content. She was of a kindly disposition, making friends with those whom she came in close contact.
She leaves two brothers, M. Schrock, of Linn county, Oregon; S. Schrock, of Lafayette county, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. D. Williams, of Lima, Ohio; Matilda Schrock, of Markleysburg, Pa,; Susan Schrock of Confluence, Pa.; Mrs. Clarissa Schooly, of Deer Park, Md.
Her parents are both dead. Ed. Beal of this city, is a stepson and so agreeable has been the relation between the two that he always regarded her as a mother.
All the relatives have been informed of her death, but at this time it is not known how many will be able to be present at the funeral owing to the distance. It was Mrs. Beal's last request that Mr. S. H. Bash or preach the funeral sermon. The services will be held at the Progressive Brethren church tomorrow at 2 p.m.
