EVANSDALE -- Jean McConeghey, 85, of Evansdale, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born March 27, 1928, in Eagle Grove, daughter of Leonard and Olga Sandven Oldson. She married John McConeghey on Nov. 6, 1948, in Des Moines.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Kathleen Covington of Waterloo; a son, Dan of Evansdale; a grandson, Matthew Covington of Des Moines; and a sister-in-law, Bonna Oldson of Des Moines.

Preceded in death by a brother, Roger Oldson.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Evansdale, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
