CEDAR FALLS -- Marjorie Lucile Hills Gram, 100, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Monday, Aug. 5, 2013.

She was born May 24, 1913, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Harry and Carrie Knudsen Hills. She married George Edwin Gram on Aug. 24, 1935, in Waterloo. He died in 1995 in Sacramento.

Survived by: a daughter, Marilyn Jorgensen of Eugene, Ore.; a son, Richard (Jill) of Sacramento; three grandchildren, Karen Gustafson Smith, Danielle Gram Muller and Robyn Gram Williams; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Justin Smith, Ava Muller and Natalie Muller; a great-great-grandchild, Camella Smith; and a sister, Jean Stenberg of Mason City.

Preceded in death by: three sisters, Evelyn Parker, Charlotte Olmstead and Helen Petersen; and a brother, Richard Hills.

Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Marjorie had a lifelong love of gardening. As a child, she worked on her father’s large vegetable farm in Cedar Falls. Often she would say that gardening helped to keep her healthy, and she was active in her garden until the last months of her life.
