WATERLOO -- Ruth Marguerite Jensen, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Sept. 22, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born July 1, 1926, on her grandfather’s farm in Hardy, daughter of Eunice and Charles Mathews. She married Burdette Jensen on Oct. 4, 1947, in Waterloo.

A 1943 graduate of Waterloo East High School, Mrs. Jensen had several occupations, which included being a clerk, receptionist, bookkeeper and homemaker.

Survived by her husband; four daughters, Pam (Cathy Hohenberger)and Danette (Bruce) Schaefer, both of Waterloo, Eunice (Jim) Hayek of Davenport and Denise Kafer (Steve Mehalovich) of Des Moines; a son, Ed (Jan) of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Reynolds of Ocean Springs, Miss.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Roxann Conerd.

There will not be a viewing or service. Burial will take place at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is assisting the family.
