WATERLOO - Magdalen "Marge" J. Joy, 78, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Dec. 21, 1926, in La Porte City, daughter of William and Mary Lutgen Heinen. She married Gordon Joy on Nov. 24, 1955, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 22, 1992.

Mrs. Joy was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (Brian) Deetz of Charles City and Penny (Kevin) Marshall of Elk Run Heights; five grandchildren, Jenny Wilson, Dana Deetz, Dan Marshall, Aimee Deetz and Mike Marshall; a brother, Bill Heinen of Eufaula, Okla.; and four sisters, Mildred (Bob) Clark of Plymouth, Ind., Marie Heinen of Beggs, Okla., Ann Tomkins of Dubuque and Mary (Gene) Shields of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Lloyd, Joseph, Nicholas and Ernie Heinen; and two sisters, Rosella Miller and Evelyn Wagner.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
