LA PORTE CITY - Services for Alice Betts, 81, of Colonial Manors, will be 1 p.m. Friday at First United Presbyterian Church with burial in West View Cemetery. She died Tuesday at Colonial Manors.

Mrs. Betts was born Feb. 23, 1904, in Elberon, daughter of George and Anna Zornig Wiese. She married
Weldon Betts June 3, 1930, in Davenport. He died April 4, 1970. She taught in several schools in the La Porte City area.

Survivors include a brother, George Wiese Jr. of Silver Springs, Md.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald R., in 1936 and a daughter, Gwen Ann, in 1945.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at Huiseman-Dykeman Chapel in La Porte City.
