Leola P. Buhmann, 85, of Marion, Iowa and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Bickford Cottage in Marion.

She was born December 25, 1920 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Roy & Pearl (Adams) Zearley. She married Donald H. Buhmann on January 1, 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri. He preceded her in death May 26, 2005.

Leola was a 1939 graduate of Waterloo West High School and attended business college. She was an executive secretary at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo.

Survivors include two sons, Donald D. (Karen J.) Buhmann of Marion, Iowa and Paul F. (Karen K.) Buhmann of Stafford, Texas; four grandsons, Donald J. (Amber) Buhmann of Marion, Peter (Kayja) Buhmann of Bend, Oregon, and Brian and Brady (Michelle) Novak, both of Cedar Rapids; six great grandchildren, Chelsea & Brooke Buhmann of Marion, Olivia Buhmann of Bend, Oregon, and Hannah, Kailey and Jack Novak, all of Cedar Rapids, and one brother, Harold (Mary) Zearley of Sun Lake, Arizona.

Leola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Lucille Loper.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Iowa.
