LINGERING ILLNESS IS ENDED BY DEATH
Cedar Falls, Nov. 13.—-After a lingering illness, extending from the early part of last December, Mrs. W. T. M. Aitken, a prominent church and society woman of the city, passed quietly away shout 9 o'clock this morning at her home. 709 Iowa street On January 22, she underwent an operation at Rochester, Minn., and submitted to a second surgical operation several weeks ago.
Fannie Ellsworth Overman a daughter of T. M. and Phoebert Overman, was born in Cedar Falls on May 24, 1861. She grew to young womanhood here and was educated in the schools of the city. She married Edward Williams, and three children survive this union; Mrs. Lolo E. Sturns, of Los Angeles, California. Harry R. Williams, of San Francisco, California, Mrs. Edward Williams of Santa Paula, Cal. In 1901 she married W. T. M. Aitken who is at present city clerk, and since that time resided at 709 Iowa Street. She was an active member of the Methodist church and also of the W. R. C. Her many womanly and Christian qualities readily formed for her a large circle of friends.
Besides the bereaved husband and children, she is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Miss Flora and Al Overman, of Santa Paula, Cal., Edward Overman, of Los Angeles, Cal., Henry Overman of Elgin, Ill., Miss Sarah Chase and Mrs. C. C. Howland of this city.

[Waterloo Times Tribune, Sunday, November 16, 1913, Waterloo, Iowa]Funeral services for the late Mrs. W .T. M, Aitken will o& held at 2:38 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church. J. W. Holland, pastor of the-church of which Mrs. Aitken was a member, will officiate at the services. The ladies of the W. R. C., will attend in a body and assist in the final earthly rites for their former co-worker. Interment will be in Falrview Cemetery.
