CEDAR FALLS - Lloyd Frederick Neumann, 84, of rural Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at his home of natural causes.

He was born May 30, 1922, on the Neumann family farm in rural Cedar Falls, son of Philip A. and Minnie Marie Matthias Neumann. He married Leita Evangeline Otto Aug. 8, 1943, at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Black Hawk County.

He graduated from Janesville High School in 1939 and following his schooling helped his parents on the farm. Mr. Neumann entered the U.S. Army in 1944 and served during World War II. He then returned to the century family farm where he farmed until retiring in 1987.

Survived by his wife; a son, Fred (Jamie) of Watseka, Ill.; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl (Ramona) of Minnesota; and a sister, Beverly (Robert) Shirk of Arizona.

Preceded in death by a brother, George; and two sisters, Ruth as an infant, and Wilma Blair.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Janesville United Methodist Church, with burial with military rites in Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
