Clifton E. Doxie* 77, of 220 Fremont St. died Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital after a lingering illness.

He was born in Waterloo on Nov 21, 1869, son of Sanford B. & Rachel Doxie and lived in the city of his birth nearly his entire life. Mr. Doxie was an engineer for the Illinois Central RR for 45 years until his retirement Jul 30, 1937. He was a member of the Waterloo Masonic lodge #105 AF & AM, the Royal Arch Masons of Tabernacle #52, Ascalon Commandery #52 of the Knights Templar & Chief Engineer of Div #114 of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for 24 yrs. Mr. Doxie was a bachelor.

Surviving are a 92 year old sister, Mrs. Mary Illingworth of 316 Walnut St. & several nieces & nephews.
The body is at Locke Funeral home where arrangements are pending.

Funeral services for Clifton E. Doxey 77, who died Tues will be at 2 p.m. at Locke Funeral home with Rev. Harley W. Farnham, pastor of Grace Methodist officiating. There will be a Masonic service conducted by Waterloo lodge #105. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
